How to explain your services to families and maximise bookings

A successful explanation of your services answers the family's practical questions without them having to ask.

01

Name the outcome clearly

Lead with the issue or problem your service helps with, not an internal service name. Avoid jargon and use clear, simple language. A parent should understand what you are offering from the title and first two lines.

If they have to research what you do, it is going to prove a barrier to booking. Use the description to define who the service is for, what happens, and what sits outside its scope.

02

Make it easy to compare your service to others

Parents will likely be looking at a few practitioners, so make sure yours is easy to compare or risk being taken out of the running.

Clearly state price, duration, location, format, availability, and follow-up care. If you offer a package, explain fully what is included rather than relying on words such as premium or comprehensive.

  • Who the appointment is for
  • What happens before and during it
  • What the family receives afterwards
  • Any preparation or eligibility requirements for the family
03

Set expectations responsibly

Over promising and under delivering is one of the biggest frustrations for parents looking for support. They are trusting you with their child's wellbeing, so be clear in what you can provide and avoid guaranteed outcomes that you cannot deliver.
